Thinking of buying a JVC H/U - any good?

Im thinking about getting this JVC unit for the MK3 and it seems to be a good price from Car audio direct.

I realise that JVC are not exactly market leaders but im not planning spending huge money on a fancy install. I just want a nice sounding MP3 player with a good display and features (I like the way this one will take an SD card too!). But I've not ruled out upgrading the speakers and adding a sub at some point in the future.

Do we reckon this is a good buy? If not then where should I invest my 200 sheets?

    Thanks.

Hey, I have this head unit and really do like it, equalizer settings on it are pretty good, PICT display and options are good and overall sound can't be knocked

I got a jvc head unit last christmas but took it back as they didn't do a cable to work the steering controls etc. Bought an alpine one now and really happy with it.

    hi all

ive got a jvc head unit had it for over a year now and had no problems with it. not the leading name but its not the bottom either, the only problems i have r i cant get a adaptor for the wheel controls. but not a major issue. would say how ever i used to have a sony HU and that really kicked ass so if uve got the extra money mite be woth spending it

yup not a bad unit, if you are looking you might want to have a look at the Xmas specials from Cel-direct. No JVC but some excellent prices on other makes. PM me for a complete list.

Sten JVC are pretty decent as you know, im running one atm and i think its ok. That one looks like a decent unit for the money.

Those of you with JVC's with no stearing controls - ive got an adapter for mine that lets me use them, so they're def available...

    Cool it does work then.

    They're available from http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/

I never had any problems with my JVC unit, pretty good sound quality for the money.
