    vibrations

hi im a newbie in need of help, a couple of days ago i struck a kurb with my drivers side rear wheel and on my way home the car was humming which made me think my wheel was buckeled so the next day i stuck my 18s back on only for the humming to gradually get worse to the point that the whole car shakes and rattles violently over 45mph so today iv had the wheel off to look for any damage but cannot see a thing which has led me to believe its a knackered wheel bearing but before i go spending on parts i thought id check up on here first as i know next to nothing about vauxhalls as this is my first.

the car itself is a 52 plate 3 door sri 2.2 with 18s and disc'd read beam

any help or advise will be greatly appreciated

    cheers

    matt

matt what part of england you from mate ??? a new wheel bearing is £270 ish from vauxhall
if your near essex you could pick one up from a brakers yard for £30 to £40 max
also have a look see if you have snapped the bolts that hold the bearing to the car

allvaux will have it as well mate they are a nice lot to deal with as well
take the car with you ask them to have a look as well they will if they have the time it saves you a few trips also they get to sell you more bits if needed so they should have a look for you

turned out that the bearing was shagged but after replacing it the car still vibrated so after alot of head scratching we found out that 1 of my 18s was buckeled so i got more money to spend before christmas, oh the joys of car modifying lol
