    Buying an ECU & Looms?

Say if i were to source a z20let and gearbox, so that it could go in my 2.2, what else would i need?

I know i'd need a ECU, and wiring looms, how much are these to buy?
And would i then need to buy things like intercoolers/and different radiators?

Apologies for lack of technology etc, im still learning

ahh, so a lot more expensive than i first thought :s

I can get the engine and gearbox for £750 - was hoping i could get that down to about £700, and was hoping the rest would be about £100

    wishful thinking me finks

I take it you definately need the use of a tech 2 (is that to get it all set up with the new engine etc? )
and what about 308mm brakes, is that just nice to have, or a must?

just had my ecu changed £334 + vat from vaux for part. Z20let

Does need tech 2 to code it in with your immobiliser codes and stuff mate said this takes bout 20mins to do he used to work for them.
They need the security code from your car pass to do it, if you lost it it's £15 + vat for new one.

the rad pack was all of them
oil cooler use a aftermarket one better an cheaper £150
intercooler buy a 2nd hand uprated one £250
    use your main rad ??

as for the ecu around £350 for a ecu then a bit more for it to be set up on the car ie coded with tech2

when i changed a sri to a SriT i had both cars an i still needed tech2 time
its a lot easyer to sell ur car an buy a turbo one trust me i have been there an done that

A decent breaker should supply a complete engine 'kit' with engine, looms and all other ancillaries.

Vauxhall Performance spares centre in Essex are very good at supplying things like this. You can use your 2.2 gearbox etc.

But also consider buying a Coupe Turbo and selling you 2.2, insurance will be cheaper as it won't be modified.
