    Sports suspension knocking

Not long ago, I fitted a full Spax system to my Mk3 Astra. For some reason, on the back right, every time I turn a tight right, or am reversing into a parking space, there is a distinct knock in my suspension. It actually sounds like something has knocked against the side of the car, but I've checked and everything looks ok. All nuts are tight and everything seems fine.

Has anyone else had this problem before or does anyone have any ideas of what it could be? It didn't do it before I changed the suspension.

    Cheers

Hi, I had a similar problem on my coupe, it turns out the coils of the springs on the rear were hitting against each other.

After speaking to the manufacturer of the springs I found out that there was supposed to be 4 plastic covers to go over the bottom 2 coils on each side at the rear to prevent this that were missing from the box.

I only have one spring on each corner, so I'm not sure what it could be knocking off. I might give spax a call and see if the they can help, or just go down to Revolutions and see if they can help.

I changed my springs and had this problem. The the springs do not actually compress straight down as the mounts are slightly angled this means the coils on the spring rub over each when they compress. Try spinning the coil round 90 or 180 degrees which will change the part of the spring that compresses tighter due to the angle of the mounts. Worked for me

Good answer. I'll give that a go this weekend.
