    Exclamation Mk4 SRi Manifold removal

Ok well it looks like i'm going to tackle the cracked manifold tommorow as my old man said he'd weld it for me

Just wanted to know if anyone had any info/tips on how to remove it whilst doing minimal damage.

Sorry if this has been covered before but i really (in Dr.Evil voice) need the info

How many cans of WD40 do you have? coz you will need them all!

really let the WD work its magic as the bolts are prone to sheering off, then you have to get them drilled out.

it is a lot easier to access if you remove the return coolant feed, and breather pipe before you start, instread of working around them.

As above, but try and get a can of "plus gas".

It is easily the best thing for releasing rusted nuts and makes WD40 look like superglue in comparison.

You will also need two new gaskets - one for each side, and by rights the manifold/head nuts be replaced with new ones
