the mk5 is fairly new so not alot to look out for on them at themoment

the mk4 suffers the same problem with the MAF sensors as the z20let

also the windows drop inside the doors when the plastic regulator breaks

The list of engines for GTI are:

    1.8 non turbo
    2.0 non turbo
    1.8 turbo (150 bhp)
    1.8 turbo (180 bhp) - later models
    1.9 TDI (150 BHP)

There was a special edition called the anniversary which came with 18" BBS alloys a vortex kit and recaro interior - this came in either the 1.8 turbo (180 bhp) or the 1.9TDI (150 bhp) this is the best of the bunch
Ibiza FR CR TDI with 203 BHP

Get the 1.8 T if you can, makes no difference which one. 150PDi is worth a punt to if you want the MPG
