No offense here but asking this to be stated on a public forum is not wise. Please no-one post the answer if known.

It was on Watchdog a few years ago, there was a security issue with the Golf - do you remember that? I cannot remember what it was though.

there were people talking about this flaw in the uk-mkiv's forum but no one will post the problem or how they do it

what they were willing to do was pm it to you if your a regluar user

i know there is a way to combat it

and it is to do with the locks/handles

just looked into it and you can weld a plate or something. ahh well looks like itl be a mystery! the golf now has an immobiliser and we'll park the polo on the drive behind mine.
they didnt touch the mk2 clio or my astra. im guessing they specialise in the vw's as our alarms would have gone off and i woulda been downstairs with my baseball bat.

the kick in the teeth is that it happened 10ft from me when i was asleep!

tbh i've seen an old vw opened in about 1 second.....

no noise, nothing. one second its locked the next it's open - an alarm would be set off, but i assume you don't have an alarm on your one.

MK3 Golfs and Early Polos are about as quick to break into as saxo's.... 5-10 seconds maximum, seen it done by someone who is in the motortrade,
