    pot holes

    i was on my way home last night and didnt see a pot hole in the road. anyway i drove through it and cracked all my back bumper. is there any kinds of laws on pot holes and who can i complain to

    there is mate, before you complain and get the appropriate form from the council - go back and photgraph it, as it isnt uncommon for these potholes to disappear very quickly once reported. Likewise photos of the damage.

    My Dad managed to get the cost of a new alloy for one in Cambs. Just make sure you gather evidence prior to claiming.

    God Damn pot holes, Lost three 18s to them, hang on, if your dad managed to get money for alloys then if i photograph a big pot hole that i have had to drive over for many a year and take photos of the alloys, do you think i have a chance????

    No harm in trying. there are some legalities to it in terms of it's size and duration since the last road inspection. But many authority will accept liability and settle. I dont know how my old man did it - first thing was to find out who maintained the road. It might be the county, district or metropoliotan council - or the highways agency if its a trunk road.

    Mmmm, might give it a try. the road in question is really bad and hasn't been repaired for a long time. how do you find out who responsible, send a letter to each one and see who says oopps?
