Speeding ticket, anyone wanna buy an 888?

Just got a ticket in this morning from my trip down to Birmingham, 108 mph So I think that will be bye-bye license. It's from the M6 North on a 70mph stretch. The letter requests that I send the details of the driver within 28 days.

I know where it was too... We were coming around a long corner passing a smart ass audi TT, and when i got to the straight I slammed on the anchors to when i saw the cctv camera. I wasn't doing 108 if you get my meaning

Any ideas of ways I might wriggle out of it? Demand calibration docs of the camera or anything? I feel like such an ass now, cos I was just rising to the bait of a tosser in a pink shirt

As long as the offence was committed in the last 14 days prior to you getting that notice....then you're caught.

ie they have 14 days to inform you of pending prosecution for the offence...
if they dont inform you within that time I think there's a way out

its been spoke about loads, you need to state your case, you need to explain you need the car for work, you also pick up a work colleague to save him/her commuting. so they rely on you.

You dress smart, act very ashamed, and don't do it again.

Forget the idiots in the pink shirt, let them get caught, just wave as he passes in future.

Selling up is a bit extreme (although gimme first dibs if ya do! lol) if you make all the right noises you could end up with anything from just points and fine to a large fine and short ban.
Is it your first offence? If it is you'll get off lighter.

I think the lengthier bans are more for the people whose points tot up - please dont hold me to that though.

oohhhhh Viio - sorry to hear that mate, we all do it from time to time, but sh1t it's really bad news to get caught. I daren't really give you any advice in case I'm wrong and give you false hope - but do hope you do manage to get out of a ban.

    Arsehole.

It's my first offence yeah, but I feel like such an idiot for doing it. I do run people to and from work most days so I can come up with that if/when it goes to court.

Because the letter is from the Cumbria Constabulary, does that mean the court i have to go to will be in England somewhere?

I think selling up is gonna be the only way to go, my insurance is already above the 3 grand mark, so when points get added on I'll be priced off the road

Wow That Is A Huge Amount For Insurance... Phew... Ouch

Well I've Just Bought My 2.2 Coupe A Few Months Ago, So Not In A Position To Be Buying A 888, I'd Loose Too Much Money - Sorry Mate, Cos I Would Love One.
