    Question Speakers the eternal question?

OK guys you've probably been asked this a million times so here it is again for a million and one.

I've gotta take me door cards off to fit some new colour coded handles after bretty boy has fitted me some LED's. I really hate the Vauxhall speakers they sound really cack. So I'm after some decent speakers as direct replacement no messing (for a hatch).
I don't want huge Bass (I'm really not into that). I want clarity of sound as much as possible. I have changed my head unit to a Sony CDX7500.

Also the rear of the car is very quiet and I have my Sony set @ 90% rear 10% front just to get something 1/2 decent out of it. Any suggestions?

    Cheese very much

get a componenet set, something like Phoenix Gold for £99, replaces tweets and mids.

Once you've got decent speakers up front fade the sound more to the front, cos that's where you sit!

You'll also need speaker adaptors, about £12.

I don't want to fade it all the way forward as I travel alot with a full car so I like everyone to enjoy it. I'll have a look them Pheonix gold ones. Are they a decent speaker? I know nothing on this. All I know is if I'm taking the door cards off I'm only doing it once. lol

    spank you

They pretty good, they do the PG octane R series which are the cheaper ones, or the octane ZR which are a better and a bit dearer. JBL might be worth a punt too, ppl have said in the past they prefer them to the PG ones.

I've heard a few PG installs when I used to sell ice in my old job, I love it! Scott has a full PG install in his 888, so definately worth asking his opinion too.
*Cue Scott coming in raving about it*

JBL are pretty good, fitted a few sets of these, and they are much better than the standard ones, good for a bit iod bass but not too much.

Around the £90 - £100 mark, i would rate them.

My choice would be MB Quartz.

i had JBL ones in my corsa and they were really good, impressed me loads, in the astra i got a set of kicker components i nabbed off ebay for 70 and am more impressed with them than the JBL's tbh as they handle bass a bit better.

I have that head unit in my mk4 mate. Just got some alpine components up front (only cheap jobbies) and then pioneer 6 x 9s in the parcel shelf runnin off a sony 250w amp. and the sony 12" sub runnin off another 250 w sony amp.

I recently stuck a 13cm sony 3 way speaker in between the 6x9s to fill the gap, thats running on a mono output with the 6x9s.

Overall im pretty pleased with the quality and volume i can get out of it. Above halfway and you're talkin almost gig volumes

Pioneer mate, get some components (the kevlar ones) then just some straight swap speakers in the back.
