    Spam SMS Messages

Every now and again i keep getting random sms messages saying this or similar:

FUEL are giving away a £300 mini moto bike this weekend, Simply text MOTO to 80508 etc etc,you know the rest

The thing is, im 100% positive that ive never signed up for anything like this; the reason being i dont do stuff like that from my phone, nor enter my mobiles phone details to anyone.. Is there a way i can stop this crap, because its beginning to get on my nervers

i had thousands of texts and calls asking to upgrade my phone when i was with orange once my contract had expired and when i phoned orange to try and get it stopped they said they couldn't do anything about it.

i also asked them if orange gave my details out to any one else the said no (as you would expect)
when i asked that it was strange than i only started getting these messages after my contract expiered and that they knew i was on orange.

to which i was told they know you are on orange by your mobile number prefix (which is true) and the rest of the number is auto generated.

and i was told that they knew the number had been around for 12months and assumped that i had not renewed my contract.
funny since i had the same number for two years with orange and i renewed my contract after the first by getting a phone upgrade and i only started getting these messages and call after my second year had expiered.

the best thing of all is that i moved my number over to O2 in july (still got an orange prefix) and i have not had a single call or text asking me to upgrade my phone since.

seems a little suss to me for a company that doesn't give out any details.

I've been with 02 for 5 years not 1 text msg trying to sell me something. Obviously you get 02 saying about special offers (once in a blue moon) but thats it. My friends are on Orange and they never stop getting them.

you can sign up any house or mobile number.

its a government website that is made so people can register and never be spammed by phone or mobile again.

    http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/what/

should work, i havent received any bs sms or calls for a long time.
