this will most likely be down to the canbus system. I can see it being a pain for us modifiers! I would put the blub you want in, in and get vauxhall to sort it out with Tech 2. Say the bulb went and you bought it as a replacemnt for it.

Report back to us and let us know what they say

Our Signum's rear courtesy lights wernt working, when we took it to Vauxhall, they eliminated the bulbs as the fault, but that there is a microprocessor in the roof area, near the rear view mirror, that had become damaged, and needed replacing. Not sure why there is anything this technical hidden away, It might be o do withthe auto anti dazzle rear view mirror (if fitted to the H?)

CanBus - as you will discover when you have a Corsa, Astra H, Vectra C or Meriva, is a system of electrical supply to the car via resistance in particular patterns, its a good system as it cuts down multiple wiring and allows greater diagnostics, BUT it means it all runs through a CPU , everything from indicators, interior bulbs, ignition timing etc etc etc - its all done through CanBus, if you want to change the head unit for example - the car has to be connected to Tech2 to remove and to refit.

I was talking to a AA patrol man yesterday. (Again ran out of fuel and really need to get the gauge looked at) and he said when you run out of fuel in the new astra it needs resting via tech 2 before starting the car again because it brings on the engine managment light on.

This can bus sounds like a pain in the arse
