the only reason they have been said to break easily is because it is possible to flex them which causes the screen to snap.

as long as you don't bend it or sit on it it will be fine.

you can get dash mount cradles for the mini so don't see why they wont do the same for the nano that way with a dash mount bracket it should be fine in the van.

Only a limited number had problems (less than 1% or so Apple says) otherwise they have less parts that can fail compared to the mini. I have had no problems at all with mine (I have had it since the first day it went on sale in the US). I have used it almost non stop since then and it has never missed a beat or failed to impress me.

What the Nano does do is that they sound better, the software is slicker, the battery life is longer and the screen really really good. Having had the mini and now the nano for me it would be the Nano everytime and the real bonus is that it takes almost no space so is ideal in really small gubbins'es around the car/bag.

Should be getting the the new 60gb Ipod Video tomorrow (time permitting) and really looking forward to that.

Either way thought you cannot go wrong with either really.

I received and what a cracking peice of kit, very very impressed with it, the size Im getting used to but the chrome and black finish is getting on my wick so I m sick of cleaning it. So I gave it to dani and have has the Mini as Im will destroy it in a week. Dont get me wrong its the best gadget I have had for a while and love the style of it and was going to buy another nano and get rid of the mini as Im that impressed. but the nano I can see it not being very robust

Scratches quite easily and screens crack. There have been numerous complaints about these - one guy is even suing apple claiming they are not fit for normal usgage as they are so thin and delicate!

Apple is facing legal action from an aggrieved American consumer over alleged problems with the iPod Nano. The lawsuit alleges that Apple launched the music player despite knowing its design would limit its life.

The legal action follows a rash of complaints from iPod Nano users who reported cracked and scratched screens.

Stick it on the mantle piece and never use it. In 50 years take it to the antiques road show, it will be worth a fortune.

Great bit of kit. Me wanty (in black).
