    Next car

    Alright folks.

Next summer is new car time for me and it's standard cars from now on. However that's not to say I want to settle for a run of the mill shopping trolley. I still want something that's fun and has a bit of poke. I just won't be modding it at all.

For the last year I've had my heart set on a MINI Cooper S. However I read that there'll be a new MINI out in 2007. That's got me doubting the wisdom of spending a fair bit of cash on a soon to be outdated motor. Another car that caught my eye is the Renaultsport Megane 225. However I'm very sceptical about going French.

My budget is the 15K mark. Whats your opinions? Soon to be outdated MINI Cooper S or a Megane.

As a last resort, what about the Ford (I know, I know) Fiesta ST?

Try the new Golf GTI with the DSG, I know second hand they are still about 18k. But just try it I was amazed at how good a car it is. Maybe you might want to spend more onec you drive it. A word of advice take a long drive as the DSG takes a while to get use to, once you do its really impressive.

I wouldnt worry about the Mini losing a lot of money, ever if their value dropped they would probably still retain more than any french car.

Defo go Jap - dont entertain a french car or a mk5 over a jap motor!!

Fiesta ST is a cracking little car too, as much as people on here hate Fords i have owned a few and has less trouble and better performance from them than the vauxhalls!!

    Cupras are spot on too
