    Astra F GSi-16v or 8v?

I've recently bought a 1994 Astra F 1.8 GSi. It has the Ecotec engine. I've just recieved the logbook from the DVLA and it stses that it's a GSi 8v. Didi this model exist? I thought all GSi's were 16v. It has the 16v badging and it used to belong to a well spoken lady driver with kids, so it's unlikely she would rebadge it. Is it a typo? Help I'm confused!

Surely a typo. They are all 16v.
    Previous Astras: 1994 Cesaro 1.8 16v | 2002 SXi 1.6 16v | 2001 Coupé 2.0 Turbo | 1999 LS 1.6 16v
    Other Vauxhalls: 2001 Vectra 1.8 16v| 2003 Vectra GSi 3.2 V6 | 2005 Signum CDTi 150

Definately 16 Valve mate, as said above, Vauxhall didn't produce an 8V GSi.
Just 2.0 then the later Ecotec 1.8 version (which I had).

nope, the original was a c20xe - 150bhp, then the c18xe (1. 130ish bhp? then the later run out model on an R plate which had the 136bhp 2.0 ecotec. All were 16v for sure
