    astra gsi dump valve

    Hi all just found this forum have been looking for one for ages,,,
    ok i have a gsi turbo 53 plate steinmetz kit running 230 bhp prob a bit more now put a stainless on it,, problem is bout 6 months ago i put a baileys dump valve on it not sure whether it is a dv26 or dv26-d the problem is it leaks boost at low revs really anoying... i been reading up and i need a dv26 d wittch has a diff spring but how can i tell whether my current dv26 is a d type or not are they marked??? i have been temped to order dv36 what are peoples coments on them??

    thanks all pls advise me in the right direction also i want more power... he he

    They have been known to fail in service mate, mine certainly did.

    If I was you, I would forget about the DV36, and get your DV26 refurbished by baileys, much cheaper and IMO better, as I thought the DV36 was crap when I tried not one, but two on my motor

    so do you think i have the correct version of the dv26 and it might be faulty?

    Funny you've posted this up, I fitted a DV26d to ShaanK's car today and its leaking too at low revs, his is brand new

    it's bloddy anoying isn't it!!!! i was gonna buy another... this is strange to problems the same... i might try the dv36 then...
    is yours def the d type as i was querying mine might not be if it is i would asume mine is the correct type..

    Yeah it's defo the 'd' type as stated on the packaging, but in saying that, it doesnt mean they packed the right one in?
    Does yours have a sticky sort of grease spraying out of your D/V?

    yes it has and still has that prob just where they grease the spring... mine about 6 months old but its always done it but its just really started bugging me now,, as im loseing acceleration... does it have model type printed on the dump valve??

    has anyone else got this problem.. and has anyone tested dv36 and confirm it doesn't leak unlike the dv26 as that's 2 now doing the same thing??

    We have been running one of the 888s with the DV36 - although looking at getting rid of it Made no difference to the car whatsoever - just made a really metallic sound - a bit like a ventilator and not as crisp as the dv26 (on the other 88.

    My DV26 has a bit of oil coming through it - this lubricates it as mine was kinda of sticking if you get my drift
