    Stereo 400 safe message

    Just put the default 400 stereo in my mk4 and it says "SAFE" and i cant get it off. It says im suppose to enter the code but i press the numbers and nothing happens, ive pressed every button and it keeps sayin "safe" help!!!

    The damn thing still says "SAFE" it wont switch to put the code in, should i disconnect the battery?

    If you have had the ignition on, held the AS button, switched the radio on while still holding the button and not heard a beep chances are its already had a wrong code put in so you have to leave it switched on until you can entre the code

    Yeah just leqave it on, manual says 10 minutes between attempts

    It doesn't say so but you might have to leave the accessory on

    This is a anti theft mode... if you press AS and the power on at the same time for approx 2 seconds you will hear a beep. followed by the word SAFE you will need to have the key on acc or ignition what ever you prefer..

    You get 10 tries to get the right code.. if you get it wrong once it blocks for 1minute then if wrong again it blocks for 2mins and doubles everytime..

    If you do not know the code you can call up Vauxhall or go to the dealers.. and ask for the code.. you will haev to provide identity etc..
