    Central Locking Help

Whilst having a fiddle with my car today, I manage to **** up the central locking - this I found strange as I was doing something supposedly unconnected.

The boot and the fuel cap servos are locked and the door servos are unlocked - but, although transmitting, the remote or door lock won't sort it out. I presume I've got the servo's out of sync somehow.

Any ideas how to go about sorting it??

I didnt think you could get them out of sync?? If you ask a component to lock and it is locked it should do nothing. Are the conections the right way round??

Have you tried leaving the drivers door open and then activating the central locking via the key for, it should lock but then unloack strait away as the door is open, either that or how about trying the lock manually to turn the locking barrel...? Is it just one dor that out of sync..?

That would be a logical train of thought - but I've not disturbed the central locking circuit at all. Only the interior lights

I've tried that - but I've not got door locks, I've got the door cards off and and flicking the lever on the lock by hand inside the door - all is dead

Not much help but the interior light circuit and C/L circuit are connected.

they both have the door pin switches in commom and the multi function timer circuit.

also they both share the same earthing point as far as know.

not much help i know but may help you narrow the problem down.

    Cheers Chris

But the interior lights are all working normally, as are the rest of the electical curcuits. It's it's just the servo's that are the problem - with two stuck locked and two stuck open

Geoff if I had a answer I would have posted it

If you were working in the passenger kickpanel area i'd check to make sure everything is still plugged in as I think thats where it goes from 1 loom to another

Nope - the only time I went near the kick panel was after it occured.

Bugger - if the finest electrical mind on AS can't help my dilemma, then I'd best get up early, apply a good coating sphincter grease and present myself humbly before the dealer .

i take it when you "lock" the car with the remote the doors lock and the fuel cap and boot unlock and vise versa??

    its very strange.

have you tryed disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it as this should give the C/L a kick up the arse.
