    Astra H alarm issue (part...........)

Having been in touch with vxl customer service, my local dealer has informed me that installing a meta alarm is the "offical vauxhall fix" for the fault.

Has anyone else been told this, or had a meta alarm fitted?

    Cheers in advance

The alarm goes off without the indicators flashing which means there is a fault with the system and it hasn't been triggered by foul means. It's not limited to just me. There are a raft of Mark 5 owners in the same position.

It has happened to me on serveral occasions, the worst being at 3.30am

Vxl have had ther car back and state it is a known fault but with no fix. But it went off one too many times, so I rang customer care in Luton today and was told that the meta alarm was THE fix.

However, if this was the case a general recall should be orginised? But it hasn't been.

I wanted to know if anyone else had been offered this fix, or if anyone knows about meta alarms and if they are any good?

    Cheers

The company Corsa B has a Meta alarm, and my housemate's old Corsa had one too. Good, reliable alarms.

We fitted the one to the company car ourselves, and tied it into the car's central locking. Bonus is it now has remote central locking, not bad for a 10 year old junk heap.
