Which mod next? HU or Brakes?

Well i am not sure what to do next to my 2.2 MK4, A new headunit as it only has the standard CDR500 in at the moment or do i get the 308mm brake concersion done with Irmsher discs?

I dont think the brakes are that bad but, i drove my GF 172 the other day and relised how spongy they feel and how much better the clio was at braking. Not sure on how much the 308mm will solve this issue maybe some who has done it can reply.

Or Do i get a my amp & sub fitted and a new HU JVC KD-AVX1.
    what should i do?
    any comments welcome.

I've done the 308mod to my 2.2 and would highly recommend it - there are a vast improvement over the standard 280mm's.

All you need to change are the caliper carrier's, the dics and pads - the calipers are the same. However the spongey pedal feel may be caused by tired brake fluid - it might be worth getting that changed.

Cheers for the replys, thinking about getting a cheaper headunit as i have just read some bad reviews on the one i was looking at. and get the brake upgrade looking at getting off that user.

Did you fit the 308mm yourself or did you get a garage to do it if so what was the cost to get them fitted

I've yet to drive a Vauxhall that doesn't have spongey brakes.

I fitted them myself. It's easy enough to do, and very much the same as changing the front pads but with two extra bolts (the carrier) and a screw (the disc).
