    Abs fault ????

Hi all hope someone can help!

I have a Astra 2.2Sri and recently the abs/tc lights come on but if you switch the engine off then on again they are not on! so i was pretty certain it was a abs wheel sensor thingy! so i got it booked it at vx and they had the tech 2 on it and the tech told me that it was the passenger side abs loom,(like a short piece of wire that leads straight to the abs sensor under the wheel arch) so i got it replaced and thought that was the end of it, started the car and the abs/tc lights back on! so i got the tech straight away he put it on tech2 again and this time its throwing a code for the drivers side loom?, he tested the hubs/sensors and says they are all ok! so my question is really, why didnt the tech2 pick up the drivers side aswell at the first time??? and could this be anything else? i have a feeling that replacing the drivers side isnt going to fix it, sorry for the huge post!

    hi,

I had a similiar fault but at the same time the engine speedo would flick between 0-10mph whilst at standstill. The hub contains a common ABS/TC speed sensor which I had replaced at a cost ot £90 for the part alone! cut a long story short, it made no difference but was ok since putting the old one back on so probably a dodgy connection. try disconnecting & cleaning then refitting to save yourself some money mate!
