Just thought Id post this up for anyone interested in the results. So far Ive only done the rear as my old standard shocks had been leaking. I had also previously lowered the car on 35mm Eibach springs giving it a more sporty feel.
I decided to go for the GSi absorbers to keep a compfortable ride whilst gaining in handling and it hasnt let me down! Cant believe the difference its made although its clear to see the front definately need upgrading too as you notice a floating feeling when you hit dips in the road surface while the back end remains firm.
Vauxhall retail the GSi shocks at:
Rear - £43inc vat.
Front - £54inc vat.
Fitting is very simple with the rear only requireing two bolts per leg. The fronts are extreamly easy to remove and fit although you need to keep the origonal camber settings. I used tipex to mark there position when fitting my springs so it is doable on your drive. Those without lowering springs would need to get a garage to switch the standard springs over as its quite dangerous when removing the tension from them. Lowered springs arent usually long enough to spring of the shock when loosened off.
