Smelly Cat? & Also, EGR Valve?

I have noticed that sometimes, when my right foot gets a bit heavy, and i drive the car a 'bit harder than normal' ( ), When i get home, turn the engine off and get out of the car, there is a bad smell of egg? If this normal???
I assume its the cat as this used to happen on a mates old nova,

Please dont tell me my cat is on its way out!

Really? my mates nova went for ages, but the cat smelt eggy EVERY time he turned his car off, not just when he drove hard? Mine does just when i abuse it?

How much for a new cat?

To save starting a new thread:

Any1 know where the EGR valve is on the Mk4 2.0 16v? There is a lot of talk about where it is on the 1.8, but not seen anything about on the 2.0?

The egg smell is not an indication of a failing or faulty cat.
    It's perfectly normal.

If engine performance drops and the ECL comes on, get the cat checked.
    Otherwise don't worry.

At least the smell is ok, thanks , but u say about the performance drop? I started a thread a while ago (Here) as my car seem to engine break quite hard and not accelerate as quick, Shahid suggested the EGR valve and showed a pic of where it is on the 1.8, but i have no idea where it is on the 2.0???
