    Angry engine nearly stalls

    alright all,

    when i'm stationry and turn my steering wheel my engine nearly stalls. And it's the same when my engine fan kicks in. Had battery and alternater tested there both ok. I think i've got a earth problem but i don't know where to start.

    My name is Craigue too. HAHA. Just spelt a bit weirder.

    Prob you power steering pump puttin 2 much strain on the electrics. Does your alternator ever make a whining or high pitched noise?

    alternaters fine but maybe your right but how do i cure that problem. A mate of mine said it might be my voltage modulater, but i don't know where that is.

    He means Voltage Regulator. Its part of the alternator and its the part that would whine if it was stressed or blown.

    nearly stalling

    i've got a recon alternater today and fitted. flippin car still doning the same thing. i'm p***ed off with it. cheers anyway

    There is a connector beside the water bottle on the right hand side of the engine, it should be a red 2 pin type. If you unplug this it disconnects the battery power to the power steering. Drive it like this for a bit and see if the problem disappears. If it does then its the power steering pump causig the grief.

    I can't find any red connecter on my car mate. I ve got a 1.4 16v, It might be different on yours mate. keep up the good work mate.

    Mine was originally a 1.4 16v too. Connector should be clipped somewhere in around the water bottle.

    The main one for the radiator, nearest the bulk head. Not the one for the windows washer.
