    Simple - you need

    oil, (10w/40)
sump plug sealing ring (pt no 3536966)
    oil filter (pt no 93175493)

It's the same as all other cars - but the oil filter is under that big black cap ½ way down the the front of the block on the right. IIRC you need a 32mm socket to undo it (but you can get by with an adjustable spanner and a few naughty words)

so if i pop to vxl in the morning they'll have the plug sealing ring and filter, and then just a matter of draining it, and filling her up again??

32mm socket for the sump plug - thats big, think i'll need to buy one :-)

yep thats all you have to do.

    warm engine up
    drain oil
    change filter
replace sump plug with new ring
    fill up
    dispose of oil correctly

to be honest geoff, nothing, i've been told it's very restrictive and can be removed as long as the standard one is left in position.

    This might help ................

    Cheers for that, most interesting.

I'm sorely tempted to have a go at that when I get my new cat back system

As I said in the other thread, I've never heard of any one doing that to a 2.2 (on here anway) and TBH I've never seen it discussed. Loads do it to the Zlet, but there are aftermarket replacement pipes to do the job "properly".

It certainly looks straight forward - I've looked on the VX220 site and it seems that to be quite time comsumiing. Some have said it took 3 hours to get the honeycomb out, whereas others say only 30 mins. (both not including getting the damn thing off the car)

More investigation is required, me thinks
