Hey guys got a new car Astra Sport 1.6 16v a while back, but the exhaust went pop on sunday....and ended up getting a new zorst all the way thru from the manifold.......as due to incorrect parts fitted by previous owners with some obscence crushing of various parts of the zorst :'(
I've had trouble with the rear sections being sealed.....its been back countless times and its a bit better than what it was...but still getting popping and banging through the exhaust.
I've just disconnected the battery to reset the ecu going to give it 30mins to reset....i also changed and put proper gaps on some Champion EON2 sparkies yday, to find the old NGK R twin prong plugs to be ok on cylinders 1 and 2, but 3 and 4 to be a bit sooty (black)
Maybe some new HT leads would sort this out?
What i think is happening is that fuel/air mix is getting past the combustion cycle without being burnt... so im getting popping and clanging in the zorst.
But only pops and clangs about 3/4 of the time.
Sounds like a chaved up fezza poppin n banging as it goes down the road on overrun.
Anyone else got any more suggestions....as i seem to have got the best seal on the rear section as of yet...the rest of the zorst doesnt leak...just the back section slightly, and thats got about 1/2 a pot of zorst repair stuff around it to try and create a seal.
Im getting so annoyed with this car now
