    dump valve

coming home yesturday my turbo wasn't spinning up properly and was making a air leak sound, turns out that it looks like the dump valve had stuck open. i got home and stripped the top off of the dump valve and greased the piston re-fitted and still no joy- it still stays open!! any ideas. oh and how can i tell if the bailys dv i have got is a dv26 like you are meant to run on it?

IIRC Bailey units are sealed for life, and sholdn't be opened.

Air leak could be anywhere to be honest

When the engine is idling the dump valve when you look at it is open, iirc.

Get it in the post to baileys, it will cost you about £30 for a refurbishment. By the sounds of it, the poppet inside the piston has worn, and its not seating properly, hence the hissing when you stamp on the loud pedal.

Baileys customer service was brilliant, you will have it back within 3 days.

Yeah they are good at taking extra cash for fixing their own DV's that break

there seems to be quite a few peeps who have to send them back to be fixed and at £30 a pop they must be doing alright
