    keyfob

ive only got one key, and was thinking i should get a spare, went to vauxhall and they want £115 for one, i almost started laughing

looked on ebay and saw this

    link to ebay

will this work surely it cant be that easy im sure you would have to take it to vauxhall for them to reprogram the key, this guy recons you need to

    "
FIT KEY. REMOVE BATTERY AND PUT THEM BACK IN 5 MINUTES LATER( THIS WILL RESET KEYFOB) PUT IN IGNITION AND PRESS ANY BUTTON DOORS WILL LOCK THEN UNLOCK , AND THATS IT )"

anyone know if this will work ok?

    cheers

    nick

I'm in the exact same postion as yourself, as i now only have one key as i dropped one and broke the immobiliser inside the fob.. i enquired at vauxhall and was told £155 inc VAT.. i had the same reaction and laughed..
I searched on ebay and found that fob, but apparently it needs programming.. but i'm going to find out if i can buy the fob from ebay and have it programmed from vauxhall or anywhere else..
may be you should try that aswell..

    Cool

i have similar sort of dilemma. i recently got a 2002 sri and apparently from 2002 they only gave ppl 1 key. i went vauxhall garage & they said £80 for blade and fob.....115 sounds a bit ridiculous mate??..but i spose dealers vary.......

I think what you do all depends on you model. you can just buy a blade for like 25/30 quid but it means you wont have remote central locking. Should still work if its an sxi model will no alarm.

I have an sri tho with an alarm so i need the whole bludy key !! unless i want the alarm to go off every time i get in the car !!! mmmmmmmm..... no thanks !! at the moment im just praying i dont loose my key......or im screwed....lol

just looked at that one on ebay, would be great if it works but.....seems a bit dodgy?? providing that works...doesnt that mean all vauxhalls have the same key blade?? To be honest thats either more likely b******s or very worrying........

Same thing i was thinking... i mean if its that easy to buy a £10 fob i'm sure crooks would be up for this.. someone needs to investigate this i guess lol.. i mean am sure theres a lot of out there holding just one key now.. i do everything not to drop my only one key lol, or else i'm dead!!!
