    Can you just put 308mm discs on with your standard calipers??

    On your 2.2 yes - all you need is the discs and the 308 caliper brackets (so the caliper stands off that bit further). The calipers are identical.

    Best to chuck in some trubo spec pads as well, at the same time.

    I've done it on mine as it makes a huge difference

    Cheers mate im gonna upgrade all my brakes to black diamond combis soon so i will get gsi 308mm ones on the front and normal size on the back with predator pads i think! So i just need to get the 308 caliper brackets from vauxhall yeah??!!

    Yep, just the brackets - Either VX or LMF will sort you out.

    Red dot do some nice disc's
    on the pads go for ds2500's they are the best ones around

    if you go with after market disc's get slots say 4 or 6 is all you need for road use

    oh right cos ive got 20 groove red dots with fast road pads on my GSi and im not that impressed with them! So you reckon i should not go for the combis and just go for 4 or 6 slot? But arent combis cooler??

    i would just go for 308mm in 6 groove with a set of Ferodo Ds2500's should work very well on my old car sold that on to my mate on the 5 door i just have std vxl 308 set up works find for the 1.8
    the groove's only start to work when you are using the brakes very hard so for road use an looks 4 or 6 groove's is fine the ds2500 is one of the best pads i have found works i am sure the 888 run the same pad

    Ma mates clio valver has them pads with standard disks and the stopping distance is mental. Proper good, id recomend the pads to anyone.
