    engine conversion information needed PLEASE!!!

Hi all, i dont know if this is in the right section but i want to get a c20xe engine fitted in my 2001 1.6 16v astra mk4. I have a donor car which is a calibra with the red top engine still in with everything else. Can anyone tell me how many extra items i will need to complete the conversion???? Anyone done this yet as i am desperate for information before i go and buy the calibra. Anyone know a company that will do this for cheap????

I have used the search option but didnt have any luck as i found loads of topics like this but didnt have any help for me.

    Cheers.

v-tuning do it for 2.5k without the engine. you could do it yourself but you need the m-tech conversion kit costing 900-1000k as its different mounts. if i remember you have a 1.6 16v so you want to check to see if you have drive by wire or cable driven. if its drive by wire itl be a bitch to sort out, new looms etc

anymore info please ask, i looked into this hard, and was going to go for it but i got the LET for the same as i could buy a c20xe

regal and courteny wont touch it

i would say look for a astra g 2.0 sri as you could use all the same mounts loom ect ect it will be cheaper to buy a crashed car as you will need a lot of parts

i have also seen an x20xev engine i think it was, would this be a better engine to fit, the only thing for sale though is the actual engine, no gearbox or anything but will my old one fit. Really cannot afford to pay anything over £1000 for a conversion. My local mechanic will fit me the engine for cheap if it drops straight in.

    another one i looked into

astra g's were a hole new ball game when it came to engine mounts so you need a x20xev out of an astra for the mountings to fit, sorry

you know you want the redtop, itl be close to unique

save up then mate, it isnt possible, you'll need new suspension, new brakes etc

    driveshafts, hubs, ancillaires, gearbox

if you want to do it correctly and for it to last

itl drop straight in but you'll have jelly like suspension and you'll plough it into the back of another car without bigger brakes not to mention battery, ecu, looms, key card, transponder, altenator and other things ive forgot as its late
