Just took the Car out after my Phase 2 Remap !

First impressions after putting my foot down - THIS CAR IS MENTAL !!! BYE BYE BEEMER, MERCS & EVERYONE ELSE IN MY WAY - HA HA HA

BUT upon slowing down approaching traffic lights - POP, COUGH, SPLUTTER . Car kept dying on me, there was hardly any power low down in the rev range either.

Bearing in mind that the car was fine beforehand - The only thing I can think of is the fact that I fitted my iridium spark plugs assuming that the gaps were correct out of the box. Have I been a donut ?

    Any suggestions ?

    Ta

Tay - I'm sure Regals with sort it out for you Glad you liked the difference - it is pretty awesome isn't it?

That was one of the reasons why we went for a custom map - mine took ages to do until Courtenay were happy with letting me go out in it - needed a lot of tweeking where the AFM and ECU sensor had to be replaced

Although I suppose there are pros and cons for both types of maps - we had to wait a couple of months to get ours done where as you sent yours off and it was done in excellent time - just a shame that your car is playing up at the mo.

I think I may have sussed it - the dreaded AFM !!!!

I bought a spare one a little while ago just in case. Swopped it and took the car round the block and it drove fine - didn't wanna cane it though in case something else was wrong. Fingers crossed that was the problem tho, just funny that it happened to break straight away - or is this a usual occurence ?

Only thing now is the fact that as soon as i swopped the AFM's over and started the car both my engine warning light (the car with a spanner through it?) and my traction control light are now constantly on

Tay - not sure but we were advised to get the AFM - nice to see that Bosch feels as though they haven't got a fault in the product - using it in the mk5s and that.

For piece of mind - I'd get the car rolling roaded - get the graph and see if there are any problems showing up on there - that's what I did

You could try the trick of turning the ignition on to bring the lights up and then off and repeat for 20 times, and then the ECU may forget about the fault it has till it occurs again.
