Does any one know if a US head unit will work ok over here?? Ive have heard things about the tuners that they are not the same or something. But on Ebay there is someone in the US selling a unit with both a UK and US tuner is this possible???

yeah deffo no RDS and the frequency stepping is different, if there is no adjuster you won't be able to recieve some stations.

I'd be concearned about warranty more than the radio..... what if something goes wrong in the first 3mths??? Then you are pretty much buggered and will wish you bought local.... it might be a bit more exxy, but warranty is priceless... If you haggle you SHOULD be able to get a lot closer to the US price, but definately not as cheap...

I bought my Apine CDA-9835R off e-bay shipped from the US. You are able select Uk type frequency and all is well . would have thought most other Alpine H/U's would have this feature also. I saved quite a lot on the UK price
