What's 1000 miles.... just get it done and be on the safe side.

The mileage life of cambelts that gets quoted is under what they can really do but they allow for a margin of error.

Why take the chance... when it breaks, so does your engine.

A decent cambelt and tensioner will cost around £60-£70.. will cost more to get it fitted.

timing belt is also done on age, so what year is yours?

also timing belts are on masterfit so fixed priceing, it will be around £180(full kit) if i remember rightly, small price to pay compared to 16 new valves.

I asked my vaux how much I'd be and he quoted £450 (inc fitting) for

    Cambelt change
Rollers & pump (told him to do them anyway)
    Full service

Theres no way on earth I'm good enough to do that. I'll stick to fixing computers thats what I do best!!! lol

To get the cambelt changed on it's own shouldn't cost more than £200 (kit and labour)from a dealer.

rhys57, ring round your local dealers there hourly rates will be different. You could get it alot cheaper by travelling a little further than your nearest one.

I had mine done at 39k miles, not worth the risk for waiting a month.
