    Talking what causes afm failures??

    what causes the air flow meters to fail??
    is it panel filters & air box mods??
    or is it just a coincidence??

    what does everyone here think??

    foreign objects- dust, spray paint, carb cleaner, meths, pretty much any aerosol. people often think it because of an aftermarket filter but its mostly because of the cleaning things you may use when fitting aftermarket bits. youll most prob have all the pipes and covers off, this makes it vulnerable.
    Any info on V6 MK4 conversions greatly appreciated!

    looking at them the wrong way will blow them, soddin things!


    I know one lad who has blown 2 just by missing a gear change at very high revs, once at Santa pod, and once on the road, my advice is carry a spare one round with you.

    I've got one to collect in a few mins from my local friendly parts shop he's getting it for me for £85.
    Lets just hope it solves the original problem I have, my brother ended up breaking the AFM so I had to change it anyway.
