    Interior Light

Got a problem with my interior light and my glovebox light on my mk3 97 astra,

basically the interior light isnt coming on when the front passenger door is opened although it comes on when you open any of the other doors, and the glovebox light isnt working either.

only thing I can think of is I took the door card off last week but only thing I disconnected was the elec window switch.
any ideas mucho appreciated. and sorry if this is the wrong section.

You problem could be the pressure switch in the drivers door frame. Have you tried turning on you headlights and opening the door to see if you get the ususal warning sound to tell you, you have left your lights on?

I'd agree that the problem most probably lies with the passenger door switch - take it out and have a check (one screww 5 minute job) that the wire is in place and the contacts aand earth are clean.

But don't bother with Pauls suggestion of the headlamp test cos the buzzers ins't wired into to the paggenger side- only the driver's.

Probably as Geoff said above, glove box light only works with the ignition on so it's probably juts a bulb
