    R.i.p

Its a sad day down here in New Zealand as if Holden arnt silly enough not importing the MK4 GSI or bringing in the MK5 in anything over a 1.8 they have now had a really good idea

They are no longer importing the VECTRA or the CORSA thats it no more and the Astra MK5 is under review as well

what are they changing to i hear you say ........................wait for it

REBADGED DAEWOO's/ The biggest piple of crap in the GM Catalog

The Laccetii will be badged ..............HOLDEN VIVA

The Kalos will keep the local Corsa/Barrina name

They make a cracking motor like the Monaro and then do this

    rant over

There goes a name from history, ruined by being slapped onto some piece of junk.

    Long live the Viva.

Yeah the same for Australia. The Daewoo is going to replace the Corsa/Barina and the Astra Classic (Astra G that's now made in Poland) is going to get the heave as well. We still get the Astra H and word is that the AH Turbo will be here at the end of the year. I think we're all wishing when we think that it will be HSV badged though.

havent the Aussies got the MK4 SRI-T though??

kinda shite that they are doing that but then again they done it for years.. the barina was originally a rebadged Suzuki Swift then in 1993/94 it changed to the Corsa b

    It's nothing new for holden!!

Also the old Vauxhall Viva could be used to replicate the old LC Torana GTR XU-1's... bit of useles info there but what the hell

trying to think of that old joke my dad used to tell me... was something like...

why do the Kiwi's like the Holden Commodore Station Wagon so much?

Because they can fit three sheep in the back and three sheilas in the trunk!!

Might be a bit rough round the edges last time i heard it i was about 12

to be honest the Vectra would be more likely to steal sales away from the Commodore than the Astra!! the Astra is more the Same league as the Old Holden Gemini in size, The new Vectra to me looks to be around the Same Dimensions as a Commodore..

Just outta Curiousity can you tell me the retail of the MK5 Astra in either 1.6 or 1.8 and the price of the Current Shape Vectra you have?? price as new would be Much appreciated (just want to work something out )

New Holden Astra "H" priced from A$21,990-$28,990 + ORC.
New Holden Vectra priced from A$29,990-$45,990 + ORC.
Of course, these are recommended retail prices only. You can get Vectras cheaper because that's the only way Holden can sell them. Been a bit of a flop here (because of the price, mainly) and has ended up a bit of a financial embarrassment for Holden.

Old enough to know better . . . Too old to care!
