Lightbulb Fed up of paying for 0870, 0845 and 0906 numbers ?

From another forum.....too good not to pinch

All none geographic numbers have a direct dial in number behind them and Oftel (telecomms watchdog) forbids any holder of an 08 - 09 number in making these ex-directory. So, here they are, a huge list of well over a thousand companies. Search for the company you want to ring and find the alternative number and get cheaper calls.

Example; Tiny computers technical support £1 per minute on 0906 558 0237 (Direct dial in 01282 684 732 local call rate charged)

0800 no.s are free lisa.. the one in question are local rate or national rate or premium rate.

however some 0800 no's are charged by mobile providers at a local rate same you would be charged if you called the direct line which in some instances can be charged at national rate depending where you live so really its a load of balls!

Don't understand how mobile phone companies can charge for a FREE number? They didn't a couple of years back. But then 192 used to be free from pay phones.
