    Question my imagination?

    hi all just got a little query thats bin bothering me.bought a 01 plate astra convertable about a month ago and seemed to have a really smooth gearchange when i first got it,but now when changin gear and liftin the clutch up it feels a bit jerky.is this a common fault on the astra or just my imagination...p.s..its got 39000 on the clock.....cheers guys

    It might not be gearbox related per se, I noticed this on my car and it was the EGR valve, its not faulty just gets dirty. Whip it off and give it a good clean with carb cleaner, hopefully it'll fix the jerkiness.

    Its possible that it is the clutch/ pressure plate at fault or even the slave cylinder,release bearing assembly.

    Its really hard to diagnose this without actually driving the car, as one persons clutch fault could be bad driving.
    Not trying to say your driving wrong, but its usually the case with customers with clutch faults.

    Best really to take it to vxl and have a tech drive it with you.
