Sounds like a push rod's come off inside the door somewhere.

Last time this happened to me (MK3 estate rear door) - it was seat out, doorcard off time. it's a ball ache, but effective

I found that the C/locking motor had jammed

may seem like a stupid idea and most likely wont work but i read about the same type of thing on a vectra and someone suggsted spraying quite a bit of WD40 into the keyhole and giving it a few mins and it unlocked easily,

also will it not unlock inside becuase of the deadlocks? if so mot cars (if the ignition is on) u can just hit the central locking ECU and they will all deactivate as it thinks uve had an accident,

a jammed door u say, had this MANY times on my astra lol. the hard part is getting the door card off from inside the car. once off have a poke around inside, mine was a simple grease up the mechanism jobby.

    1/2 solved.
Eventually forced the door mechanism to unlock by applying lots of pressure on the key lock, and it did pop unlocked.

I then took it all apart to find the connecting rod from the end of the door pin connects through the internal handle pull and the central locking motor - all held in place by a flimsy plastic popper ended part - which had half snapped.

Made car secure and usable by all but the door pin - scrapyard tomorrow it is then.

I know Accents are crap, but you don't have to scrap it just because the door is bust.

Then again, you might get £15 for it.
