Does a dumpvalve faulter your top speed?

Hi people, need a little advice. I know its not very offen you test the top speed, but when I first got my coupe turbo, I took it for a blast and easily got to 145 before bottling it. Since then Ive had the dbilas front derestrict, k&N panel filter, and a solid boost pipe with bailey dv36 dumpvalve.
The other day I decided to test the top speed again, but this time when I got 140 the electrics light came on (the one with the car and ther wrench sign) and what sounded like the dumpvalve constantley sounding, started to happen, and would'nt go any faster. As soon as I got to normal speeds the light went off.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

any info would be most helpful, as I stressed about it

Note: Top speed was tested on a high speed ring

No, hav'nt got round to it yet. The dump valve is in warranty though, if that is at fault. Do you think the dump valve is faulty then

Well, I had a feeling it was the dump valve to be honest, think I'll mention it to cossvaux who fitted it, and see if they'll replace it, or offer me an alternative dumpvalve that wont break. Thing is, it just sounds great, and one of the reasons I bought a turbo was because of the dumpvalve.
Is there an alternative, to keep a dumpvalve, and still keep boost?

I probably will eventually, but for the time being I'll keep it on. Did you have the same problem with the dump valve then I take it?

I didn't have problems, but did some research and ditched it on mine when i had one of the remaps done. Responded quicker and smoother so left it off.

never had a problem with the DV (except 4 a pipe popping off a couple of times) i've done 150mph (on the clock) and my dv has been fine. had judder when letting off the throttle at high speed but my m8 has developed a little mod that lets the oe valve open just a tad and problem cured.

dont get rid of the dv!!! thats what a turbo is all about. you can hear it coming and that noise is amazing. ask yourself how often do you travel at top speed (on the track obviously!)
