dump valves wont do a thing other than noise. think you can get a tuning box for them that adds a bit of poke?

can you adjust the boost etc? i heard they run really low boost?
what about induction kits etc?can u also still put back boxes on deisels??
never really looked at deisel engines before so aint sure wht u can actually do to them..
would you really need to boot it to get it to dump??

a remap works wonders for diesel engines can get around 20% power hike form a remap.

yes you can still put a perfromance exhauts on a diesel not sure how much power it will free up tho.

as for a dump valve they are pretty pointless as you don't have a butter fly on the inlet manifold so you don't cause a back press which like you do a petrol engine so the turbo dosn't slow down.

SimonDTI is the best guy to ask about diesel tuning tho

    not sure on that one.

no buttery fly would suggest not as on a petrol engine the closing of the butteryfly causes a vacumm to open the dump valve.

but i am sure i have heard a diesel with a dump valve go before. so there must be something that triggers it.

as mentioned once simon gets on line he will fill in all the gaps (and probably rubbish all that i have said )

the 1.6 16V is a very tuneable engine. 150BHP is easily obtainable without the aid of any forced induction what so ever

    Its all in here
