    Spanner in the works!

Just finished detailing my Astra's exterior using Pinnacle Signature wax (will post a couple of pics in the car care section), so decided to take car for a quick spin. Got 100 yards along the street to hear an almighty crack for the back of the car, as the rear shifted slightly to the right. Pulled over instantly, found the driver's side rear tyre was flat so jacked the car up and found that the cause of the puncture was a spanner imbedded in the tred!!

£80 for new tyre, a bit peeved! But it happens!

Think the spanner was lying flat on the road and was kicked up by the front tyre and then the back one hit it while the spanner was pointing up and the weight of the car just forced it into the tyre... It was an almighty crack that came from the back of the car, to be honest I was glas it was only a puncture! Checked out the wheel for damage, no obvious damage so lucky in that respect!

spose in a way you could count yourself lucky that you only got a punture from this, and that your not forking out for a respray and fix after the spanner chose to go up through the arch and play havok with the body work! :-O but that is quite incredible to say the least! wonder what the chances of that happening are?

Am relieved that the only damage was to the tyre, it could have been a lot worse! Think it has something to do with detailig the car, last time I did a big detail I had my driver's side mirror smashed!
