    Will these tyres fit?

I've got a 2.0 16v Mk3 and should be getting new tyres soon. I want to know if I can keep my standard alloys (as I quite like em) 15's, and put some 215 on them.

Standard fitment is 195/55R15 so I want to put on 215/50R15. I checked out a tyre calculator (http://www.tyretraders.com/tyrecalc.html) and the difference was only 0.08% ratio.

I just want to know if the car will cope with the extra width without any problems (I know its only 20mm) cus I want some extra grip for when I start doing some other modding, etc?

    Thanks for you input experts...

I was hoping to get 215's as they are so near the original ratio for speedo etc...

Anyone else tried these on a Mk3?

    Cheers

they'll probably do more harm than good. more chance of rubbing, esp if your gonna modother stuff (lowering, kits etc) not only that but they will "scrubb" cos there's so much flex in the side wall, so you'll actually have less grip.

Stick to what you should have, or go to 17s.
