    Rear shelf 6 x 9's coupe

    Anyone got 6 x 9's on the back shelf of a coupe?? or in the back side speaker location?? pictures and comments would be good.

    I wudnt touch 6x9s with a proverbial barge pole mate. Especially not in the rear. Stick some good comps in the front, amp then if u fancy it. Thatll sound a whole sack load better than 6x9s
    Any info on V6 MK4 conversions greatly appreciated!

    yeh everyone i have heard on here reckons 6x9's are not to be touched, i kinda agree if you can afford decent comps, and amping them all. d_Dave has a nice set up on his gsi, has 6x9's in the rear quarters, dont know if this is where normal rear speakers are located in gsi's but sounded relitavely good, even better if u amp them and then upgrade front and amp them to.

    Steer clear of parcel shelf modifications (for speakers) - it is part of the structure that strengthens the rear of the car on a coupe.

    Stick to subs in the boot, and new amped comps in the front. Use the standard rears for 'infill' - it's not really worth the hassle of removing half you interior to get them out.
