    Courtneay 308MM disc conversion

I've got 288MM discs on my Astra at the moment but am unimpressed with their peformance so i'm thinking of getting the 308MM conversion kit from Courtneys.

Has anyone had an experience with this kit? What's the difference in peformance compared from the 288 discs? Is it worth the money or is the difference not substantial enough? Also, how easy were they to fit? They kit looks pretty DIY friendly.

    Cheers, Gareth.

I upgraded from 288 to 308mm discs on my mk4 1.8 sport rather than replacing the standard discs and pads when they were worn out. The brakes, including the calipers came straight of Steve's ( Lord Nikon's ) GSi and fitted straight onto the sport replacing everything that was already there. It made a huge difference to the braking ability of the car and I was very impressed. Plus they looked cool - a noticable difference in size for sure.

Are they not a direct replacement for turbo discs which are already 308mm? If that is the case it won't be an easy DIY job to fit.

    Cheers lads.

So what's the best option? The kit from Courtneys or sourcing them from a GSi?

Try LMF for a price. I've up my 280's to 308's and they gave a decent price on the bits (I didin't get them form tjhere tho ). As said above all you need are the caliper brackets, the discs and a new set of pads (get turbo ones, as they are alot better).

Really easy upgrade to do and well worth the effort - the difference is amazing
