    A Once Off!!!!

I was on a long stretch road and against a vauxhall nova (done up big time!!!) anyways when accelarating we both seemed to be accelarating at the same speed (i expected to overtake easily, but admitatily i changed gear at 5000-5500rpm), woz this the 1.6sri and roughly how much bhp is he pushing out??? and for all i know it could be the 1.2. anyways when reaching 100mph i breezed passed with no probs!

so how much bhp is MY car pushing out??? (1.8 16v 3dr sport)i have heard it has 113bhp from one person and 130bhp from another! I use to have a r5 gt turbo and that kicked everybodies ass but i dont feel the power in this big car! but i know it has it!

also going around a corner at about 70mph i could feel my back end going out and it wasn't a very bendy corner just a small one, has anyone else found this??? and would anyone reccommend a decent lowering kit (including shocks)?

    cheers Mono

could have been a valver (2.0 16v engine from an astra/cav) but that would have left you standing, so it's possible it was a 1.6 after all the power/weight ratio with novas is pretty high no matter what engine is in them because they weigh almost nothing.
I don't know the exact numbers but a 1.6 nova vs. 1.8 mk4 astra could be pretty evenly matched
