    Am I being stupid?

Over the past few days I started thinking about the cars I always wanted when I was growing up, and Ive really started to miss the 'old skool' stuff like Cav GSi's, Astra Mk2 GTE's, Mk3 GSi's etc etc.

Im now wondering whether to just flog the LCR, and start over again with something like an astra mk3 GSi or Cav mk3 GSi, and work my way back up again.

Ive always wanted to own one of these, and have progressed up the car ladder too quickly TBH. At the end of the day, im 21 and have already owned a Coupe Turbo and an LCR.

Does anyone think this is a foolish plan? At the end of the day I don't want to make a silly decision but everytime I see a mint example of each (i.e at PV), I always wish id had one.

    Cheers ppl

    Matt.

At the end of the day it's up to you really mate, but older cars are prone to more problems.

    Your choice
    No more Astra..........Now another German!

Why not just buy one as your project car, at the end of the day it aint going to cost that much to buy one then mod it when you can afford it. Out of interest what do you do, cos at 21 thats a good effort on the car front. Still can't believe they insured you on them for not extortionate amounts!

I dont think you are stupid at all, however I think if you soley rely on one car it might not be a great idea. I have my mk2 golf which I love to bits and always wanted one when I was younger, but its a run around car and I dont rely on it at all! Which is just as well as it would annoy the hell out of me every day after driving newer cars. Ive got the van and the mk4 golf for day to day driving between me and Sarah.

The astra comes into the equation some where along the line as well

M4TT run my own business doing paint repairs to cars etc mate.

I pay £1015 Fully C on the LCR, which is obviously pretty good and another reason why i decided to buy it.

Im becoming tempted to get something as a project car, although Im not sure exactly where id keep it yet, and space is limited at my house, especially now I drive my van during the day.

I guess ill just have to keep my eyes open and if a proper mint example of summats pops up ill seriouslyconsider buying it.

I know what you mean Matt, so many cars i wanted to own and modify ie Nova along same lines at Brett W's, mk1 golf, mk3 golf (euro style) the list goes on.....

if you can afford to run 2 cars then great, sell the LCR and buy something cheaper but newish and use the other funds for a project car that you can build and show.
