been looking at these for a few weeks now and really just wanting to hear any first hand experience anyone has had from these.
I looked at them a couple of years ago, then bought a WRX import instead.
From what I remember, I was put off by the Rotary engines needing a re-build every 60k, hence many selling around 50k or 70+. It's the Rotor tips iirc that go.
But apart from that it was a real squeeze for me to fit into one, but twin sequential turbo version is a storming performer.
Nice cars but as already said, the 70K rebuilds is just a joke, as this costs loads!! Equivalent Evo's and Scoobys are far more reliable in the long run, saying that, any old turbo car is a liability if cared for!
iv read this and from what iv read it cost in the region of about 2k.
as for the evo's n scoobys to get one as fast as these (0 - 60 in 5.1s) you will have to pay out a hell of a lot more cos im im right the fq420's are only just under 5 sec and there about 50k new lol
I thought rebuild intervals were more like 30 - 40k, did a bit of research into them ages ago, there are stronger tip seals available to help with that problem.
The main point they seemed to make was treat it as a race car, basically a rediculous amount of maintenance and you should be OK.
Bloody nice looking cars though , apart form certain aspects of the interior, I don't think they dated much looks wise
brett, the evo mrfq400 is 0-60 in 3.5 secs and top end 175, lol... the 320 is bout 4.9 secs i believe??
great cars but lots of trouble and money munchers. If you are going to buy one allow for an engine rebuild as soon as you get it, and a complete check over my a decent Rotoray expert for any possible problems.
Stunning cars to look at and drive but at the end of the day its an old car that needs to be looked after from day 1 of ownership and corners can not be cut. If they are you will end up very broke!
isnt the fuel consumption shocking on them as well?
very nice cars if you can afford the running costs tho

I sort of know a bloke that used to own one, he reckoned that you couldnt get better than about 20 to the gallon out of it driving nice, but dropped to around 12 to the gallon with a heavy right pegOriginally Posted by Sten
