    Angry Pollen Filter.....

Thought I'd take a look at my pollen filter today as it was smelling a bit after turning of air con.

I checked the bible (Haynes book) and set about remove it.

Was filthy, do they look black on one side after 8 months or is it likely Vauxhall didn't change it at last service?

Also, slightly more worrying is that the Haynes book says that you should put them in with the arrow facing the front of the car.......YES you've guessed it it was in the wrong way round!!!!

Think I might mark everything before service in September and check they actually do what they charge me for. (Oil filter, pollen filter etc etc etc)

It's changed on the FOUR year service, not before hand.

They're only a few £, if it's filthy just change it. Still worth asking where you had i serviced tho.

as dannysport says remove the glovebox look towards the left and you will see a rectangular bit of plastic held in by four screws one in each corner this is the cover to the pollen filter just remove these and the pollen filter is exposed.

A pollen filter will get black in a few weeks let alone 8 months especially in summer.

99p from E-Bay, got 2 as they were dirt cheap. Gonna go change mine now.

Just done, little tip, for anyone who hasn't got a 5.5mm socket or spanner and can't get the 2 little bolts that hold the pollen filter cover on a No8 Torque socket fits perfectly. Ignored the Haynes as the OE filter came out with the arrow on the side pointing into the car, fitted the new one the same as the old one came out.
