    taking out existing cage

hi, i managed to take out the factory hu on my astra 1.6 sxi, but i cant seem to get the existing cage out? theres screws on either side and one on the back, but dunno wot kind of screws they are? a normal cross screwdriver doesnt work, neither does the hex , wot should i be using? also the pins at the back for power and speakers are they fixed to the cage? can they be freed ? im trying to put my kenwood mask in, i can connect the kenwood cables to the pin but i cant slide the hu in coz of the cage, so any help on how i can take it out and will this free the pins at the back etc?

    thanks.

You will need a torx 20 screwdriver(think thats the name for it!!) to remove the screws, and then the cage will slide out, and the connectors and antenna simpley click out the back of the cage.

Cage is held at the back with a torx bit, T20 to be exact then I find if you bent the cage in carefully top and bottom it will slide out. Once it's out the aerial and connectors can be unclipped easy

When it comes to fitting your new headunit don't forget to swap the accessory and permanent live wires round (red and yellow usually)

Thats just the way the Astra ignition switch works.
To change it you would have to rewire the car.

Its a standard off the shelf part in any good motor factors/ICE shop/Halfords.
Just asks for an ISO to Din aerial adaptor, it looks like an aerial plug.
